The written hunter examination 2026 by the lower hunting authority of the Oberberg District will take place on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the meeting room of the former district cafeteria, Moltkestraße 42, 51643 Gummersbach.

The practical shooting test will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, starting at 9:00 AM, at the shooting range of the Oberberg District Hunters Association e.V. in Gummersbach-Talbecke.

The oral examinations will take place from Tuesday, April 22, 2026, to Friday, April 24, 2026, starting at 8:00 AM each day, at Bielsteiner Straße 66, 51674 Wiehl.

Applications for admission to the hunter examination must be submitted no later than two months before the date of the written part of the hunter examination, i.e., by February 23, 2026, to the Oberberg District, The District Administrator, Lower Hunting Authority, Stahlstr. 5, 51645 Gummersbach. The application must include

1. proof from the state association of hunters or one of its statutory sub-divisions regarding the safe handling and shooting of a handgun with a minimum caliber of 9 millimeters. The proof must not be older than one year;
2. proof of participation in a training course recognized by the competent veterinary office for Qualified Persons according to Annex III Section IV Chapter I Number 4 of Regulation (EC) Number 853/2004;
3. an official certificate of good conduct, which must not be older than 6 months.

The examination fees to be paid for admission to the hunter examination amounting to €35 and the participation fees for the hunter examination totaling €265 will be collected upon separate request before the start of the examination.

Applications for admission that are received after the aforementioned deadline cannot be considered.

A possible re-examination will generally take place no earlier than three months after the completion of the above-mentioned hunter examination.
