Maintenance K 53 Erdingen - Wendershagen The Real Estate Management Office of the Oberbergischer Kreis informs.

Oberbergischer Kreis. Starting from October 10, 2026, maintenance work will commence on district road 53 between Reichshof-Erdingen and Morsbach-Wendershagen, as announced by the Real Estate Management Office of the Oberbergischer Kreis.

The work will be carried out under a complete closure of through traffic. Local access will be limited, except during milling and asphalt works. An interregional detour will be set up via L 324 "Odenspieler Straße" - Lichtenberg - Hülstert and L 336 - Euelsloch, and then further via "Ellinger Weg" - Birken - Ellingen - Wendershagen (and back). The detour plan can be accessed on the OBK website under the "Mobility" section.

After milling off the surface layer, targeted deep milling will be performed to repair damaged areas. Subsequently, the road will be covered with an asphalt base layer and an asphalt surface layer. The existing access roads and junctions will be adjusted to the new road surface, embankments and existing ditches will be re-profiled. Furthermore, the existing guardrails will be replaced.

The work is expected to be completed by early November.
