Retaining wall on K 46 in Gummersbach-Talbecke needs to be renovated Structural renovation to take place at the end of February to ensure stability

Oberbergischer Kreis. The retaining wall on county road 46 in Gummersbach-Talbecke will be renovated at the end of February 2026. These measures are necessary to ensure the long-term stability of the concrete retaining wall - located opposite the quarry operation. The structure exhibits numerous cracks and surface concrete spalling. A comprehensive renovation is required to prevent further damage.

During the renovation work, the K 46 in this construction site area will be partially closed, and traffic will be controlled by a traffic light. This is also intended to ensure traffic safety and occupational safety for construction site personnel. These asphalt works are scheduled to be carried out during the upcoming Easter holidays. Direct local traffic will be possible with restrictions. To minimize disruptions for affected residents and businesses during the entire construction period, the work will be carried out in several phases.

Subject to weather conditions, construction work will start on Monday, February 23, 2026. It is expected to be completed by the end of July 2026 at the latest.
