The volunteer card is now accessible to more people in the Oberberg district Eligibility requirements were eased by the state of NRW to further recognize volunteer engagement

Oberberg district. With the volunteer card, volunteers receive numerous benefits. Because the eligibility requirements have been eased, more people in the Oberberg district can now apply for a volunteer card. The required number of hours of voluntary work per week has been reduced from 5 to 4 hours, or from 250 to 200 hours per year. Additionally, volunteers may receive an expense allowance, provided it does not exceed the tax-free allowance for the volunteer allowance (960 euros) or the trainer allowance (3,300 euros).
"This means that voluntary engagement is even more recognized in the Oberberg district. The volunteer card not only provides access to approximately 5,000 benefits across the state, such as entry to swimming pools, museums, theaters, or music events, but it is also a visible symbol of appreciation," says District Administrator Klaus Grootens.

The volunteer card can still be applied for at the Oberberg district and in the municipalities - also digitally. Interested parties can find information on www.obk.de/ehrenamtskarte.
