Jobs in Oberberg 2026 - Job Fair LateNightEdition for the Oberberg District Connecting applicants and companies to strengthen the labor market in the Oberberg district

Oberberg District. Establishing connections between job seekers and companies in the Oberberg region and recruiting young professionals, specialists, and executives are the goals of the job fair "Jobs in Oberberg LateNightEdition," which has been running for over 15 years. It takes place every two years and offers around 50 companies in the Oberberg region the opportunity to present themselves to potential new employees: on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM at the Halle 32 in Gummersbach. Admission is free!

“With the Oberberg Job Fair, we create a central platform where skilled workers and companies from our district can engage in dialogue. This not only promotes the retention of skilled labor but also strengthens the economic future and attractiveness of the labor market in the Oberberg region,” says District Administrator Klaus Grootens. 

The organizers of the job fair are: The Economic Development Agency of the Oberberg District, the Employment Agency in Gummersbach, the Job Center Oberberg, and the Regional Agency for the Cologne Region. They are convinced that the job fair can make an important contribution to reducing the shortage of skilled workers.

Information about new career opportunities in the Oberberg District

“The Oberberg Job Fair is a strong format targeting skilled workers, returnees, and career changers who want to learn about their career development opportunities and get to know employers,” says Frank Herhaus, Head of Planning, Regional Development, and Environment. 

“The upcoming job fair in the Oberberg District is a great opportunity for our region,” says Nicole Jordy, Chairwoman of the Management Board of the Employment Agency in Bergisch Gladbach. “Especially in the Oberberg District, diverse industries meet committed professionals and young talents. The fair offers companies the opportunity to present their open positions in person and to engage directly with applicants. At the same time, job seekers and those considering a career change are presented with interesting options and concrete career prospects. This creates new opportunities for both employers and employees.”

Participation in the fair is free for exhibitors. Interested parties can take advantage of attractive offerings such as free professional photos and application document coaching. The job fair also features a HR talk with companies from the Oberberg region, discussing topics such as application processes and hiring procedures. 

“The Oberberg Job Fair is a low-threshold offering. This makes it accessible to everyone and is, therefore, worth supporting,” adds Beate Fiedler, Head of the Regional Agency for the Cologne Region.

Personal encounters build trust

The target groups are skilled workers, returnees, and career changers. Employers from all sectors are represented, including mechanical engineering, plastics technology, electrical engineering, healthcare, and gastronomy. The Oberberg District also presents itself as a diverse and attractive employer.

“The proven and successful format continues to resonate strongly with employers in the Oberberg region, even during economically turbulent times. Following the record year of 2024 with 2,000 visitors, we are once again looking forward to a large turnout from everyone interested in job searching,” says Rainer Drescher, Managing Director of the Job Center Oberberg.
