"Oberberg bewegt sich" supports the International Weeks Against Racism once again Numerous nationwide events from March 16 to 29, 2026

Oberbergischer Kreis. The initiative „Oberberg bewegt sich“ is once again supporting the International Weeks Against Racism this year. From March 16 to 29, 2026, numerous diverse events will take place as part of this nationwide campaign. This year's campaign is under the motto „100% Human Dignity“.
"I am pleased with this commitment against exclusion and discrimination and also call on our citizens in the Oberbergischer Kreis to advocate for the protection of human dignity and for peaceful coexistence. The initiative 'Oberberg bewegt sich' offers free resources to make a stand for diversity and tolerance and against xenophobia.", says District Administrator Klaus Grootens.

The opportunities to get involved are vast: participation in numerous nationwide events, use of hashtags #IWgR26, #InternationaleWochengegenRassismus or #100%Menschenwürde on social media, or joint small and large initiatives—every idea on the topic makes an important contribution.
On March 28, the action day #BewegtGegenRassismus will also take place, during which all people and associations nationwide are called upon to make their commitment visible under the common message „We stand together – against racism and for 100% human dignity“.

The initiative "Oberberg bewegt sich" is a collaboration consisting of the Caritasverband für den Oberbergischen Kreis e. V., Diakonie - Evangelischer Kirchenkreis an der Agger, Kreissportbund Oberberg e. V., the Bildungsbüro Oberberg, and the Kommunales Integrationszentrum des Oberbergischen Kreises (KI).

„Many people are already familiar with the initiative and use caps, scarves, and stickers from Oberberg. The International Weeks Against Racism provide a wonderful opportunity to keep the logo visible and show in everyday life that it is important to stand up for a diverse society in the Oberberg district,“ says Sarah Krämer, the head of the Municipal Integration Center.

Interested parties who need materials can contact the initiative via email at oberbergbewegtsich@obk.de. Those who want to make their commitment visible can wear the heart logo of "Oberberg Moves" while doing sports, at work, during a walk, or simply in everyday life. Participants are encouraged to take a photo of themselves or their club, group of friends, or colleagues and share it on social media with #oberbergbewegtsich or send it to oberbergbewegtsich@obk.de .
The initiative "Oberberg Moves" calls for active engagement for social peace and the protection of human rights, as well as taking a stand against right-wing extremism!
