Oberberg District. The central IT systems and specialized applications of the district administrations are now largely available again. The Oberberg District can again be reached by phone and email. The district's websites are also back online.
Requests from citizens can now be processed again, and previously scheduled appointments can be kept as of now - for example, at the main office of the Road Traffic Office in Gummersbach-Niederseßmar or the Immigration Office. However, there may still be some individual restrictions.

The branch offices of the Road Traffic Office in Hückeswagen and Waldbröl will remain closed today (Wednesday, 04.03.2026). Citizens who had demonstrably booked an appointment at one of the branch offices yesterday or today can have their requests processed at the main office of the Road Traffic Office today. They can come without an appointment but should expect waiting times and bring proof of the original appointment booking.

Due to the disruption at the data center of regio iT caused by a power outage, the Oberberg District and numerous other administrations were only partially accessible since yesterday.

If photos for download are provided exclusively for media representatives/press, all usage rights (cf. §§ 31 ff. UrhG) according to § 43 UrhG lie with the Oberbergischer Kreis. For reporting purposes, the media are granted a simple usage right according to § 31 Abs. 2 UrhG. When publishing, the image rights specified in the press release must be cited (corresponds to IPTC field no. 110). The additional mention of a natural person as the author according to § 13 sentence 2 UrhG is waived, as this regulation is overridden by the application of § 43 UrhG.
