Week of Care 2026 Oberbergischer Kreis provides information about events for caregivers and family caregivers.

Oberbergischer Kreis. The Oberbergischer Kreis will once again host the Week of Care from May 8 to May 15, 2026. The goal of this action week is to highlight the importance of care, support caregivers, and provide low-threshold information and counseling services to caregiving relatives. The events will be held in cooperation with various local actors in the care sector.

Care Party – Opening Event
Friday, May 8, 2026, from 6:00 PM
Location: Steinmüller Hotel, Steinmüllerallee 24, 51643 Gummersbach
The opening event is aimed at all professional caregivers in the Oberbergischer Kreis. The evening serves as an opportunity for exchange and appreciation of those working in care.

Health Day for Caregivers
Wednesday, May 13, 2026, 9:00 AM – 4:15 PM
Location: AGewiS Gummersbach, Steinmüllerallee 28
The Health Day includes expert lectures and practical offerings on the topics of health promotion, exercise, and stress reduction. Participants include BARMER, Linzenich Fitness Studio, Physio Linzenich, and Artur Ruppel (Yoga/Relaxation).

Poetry Slam “Focus on Care“

The Poetry Slam is organized in collaboration with the Oberberg Care Network (P.NetO). Contributions by slam poet Eva Lisa and other participants will highlight different perspectives on care.

The event provides information on support services at the end of life and offers space for exchange. It is held in collaboration with “Wiehl Vernetzt”.

Action Day for Caregiving Relatives in Reichshof
Monday, May 11, 2026, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Location: Bürgersaal Reichshof-Denklingen, Hauptstraße 12
The Action Day includes an information fair with regional exhibitors and a lecture by Dorit Knabe on the topic “How to Stay Healthy and Optimistic as a Caregiving Relative” (Care Self-Help NRW).

Digital Coverage of the Action Week
The Week of Care will be accompanied by contributions on social media. Caregivers from the Oberbergischer Kreis will share insights into their personal motivation and daily work through the video series “We Care for You Because…”.
