The Care Network invites you to the first Care Poetry Slam in Oberberg When care touches: Evening on stage gives emotions a voice

Oberbergischer Kreis. Care leaves traces – in thoughts and in the heart.
With the project „Care Speaks“, the Care Network Oberberg creates space for precisely these experiences.
As part of the Weeks of Care 2026, organized by Oberbergischer Kreis, the network invites you to a poetry slam workshop on April 28, 2026, as well as to a public Care Poetry Slam on International Care Day, May 12, 2026, at the Innovation Hub in Gummersbach.

The workshop „Care Speaks! A Poetry Slam Workshop for the Soul“ will take place:
on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Invited are caregivers and trainees, as well as explicitly individuals with
personal care experiences, such as those caring for relatives.
It is aimed at everyone who wishes to express their experiences, thoughts, and feelings about care creatively. Under the guidance of renowned slam poet Eva-Lisa Finzel, participants will learn the fundamentals of poetry slam – creative spoken writing.

Care will be addressed as what it is for many people: closeness and responsibility, but also emotional strain, farewell, compassion, and hope.
The workshop provides a safe space to process these experiences and connect with others.
Two weeks later, care will be heard – on a public stage:
At the Care Poetry Slam on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, International Care Day, participants will perform at the Innovation Hub in Gummersbach in front of an audience.
Even those who do not wish to perform on stage are warmly invited to join as guests, listen, and experience care from many perspectives that evening. Additionally, a prize money (500.00 €) will be awarded for the best poetry slam contribution. However, the focus is not on competition but on shared experiences, making care experiences visible, and open exchange with the audience.
