Open Air at Schloss Homburg: Four days of live music in a special atmosphere Diverse concert weekend from July 9 to 12, 2026

Oberbergischer Kreis. The Schloss Homburg Open Air is once again inviting everyone to a diverse concert weekend from July 9-12, 2026: featuring jazz, Cologne rock music, party hits, and classical music. "With this special program, we are once again presenting live highlights in a unique atmosphere this summer. I would like to thank the organizers, our partners, as well as the musicians who are committed to this special music festival, enabling it to happen in this high quality," says Felix Ammann, Cultural Director of the Oberbergischer Kreis.

To kick off the event on Thursday, July 9, 2026, the Oberberg brothers Julian and Roman Wasserfuhr will take the stage at the castle. For many years, they have been among the defining voices of German jazz and have performed at Schloss Homburg several times. Their characteristic sound combines clear melodies with an atmospheric musical language. With their current project "Timelines," they bring together different influences and experiences with their longtime musical companions: Colombian bassist Juan Camilo Villa, drummer Bodek Janke, and cellist Jörg Brinkmann, creating a unique sound.

In the opening act, the band Big Stuff will showcase their skills. Since 1989, they have been a solid part of the jazz education at the Wipperfürth Music School and present a diverse repertoire ranging from classics of American big band literature to modern European arrangements.

On Friday, July 10, 2026, the Cologne band Kasalla will provide good vibes and unforgettable sing-along moments with their distinctive blend of rock, pop, and Cologne spirit.

On Saturday, July 11, 2026, the cultural office at Schloss Homburg, together with the Nümbrechter Kur GmbH and the Nümbrecht Municipal Utilities, invites you to a special afternoon for the whole family. Look forward to a varied program with music, games, and good vibes for young and old alike. On stage, the Bonner Youth Symphony Orchestra – the youth orchestra of the city of Bonn – will delight with talented young musicians aged 12 to 25.

After the concert, visitors can enjoy a colorful range of games on the castle grounds: The Nümbrecht Municipal Utilities will offer, among other things, a large bouncy ship and mini-golf.
Admission to the afternoon concert as well as the game offerings is free.

The Saturday evening will be all about entertainment and lively atmosphere with the StockBrot band. The band impresses with a wide-ranging repertoire, from evergreens and Cologne songs to Schlager, rock, and current chart hits. The concert promises a varied evening that invites singing and dancing and appeals to an intergenerational audience. The concert is a cooperative project with the Nümbrechter Kur GmbH.

On Sunday, July 12, 2026, the traditional Classical Open Air titled “Milestones of Music” will take place, featuring the Philharmonia Frankfurt under the direction of Juri Gilbo with melodies by Rossini, Verdi, Puccini, Tchaikovsky, Strauss, Offenbach, and more. The Classical Open Air is organized by the Cultural Office of the Oberbergischer Kreis, the Friends of Schloss Homburg e.V., the municipality of Nümbrecht, and the Cultural Support Association in Nümbrecht e.V..
