VHS Oberberg reorganizes: Sarah Krämer officially takes over leadership Sarah Krämer officially took over the leadership of VHS Oberberg on May 1, 2026.

Oberbergischer Kreis. The 35-year-old has been provisionally managing the VHS Oberberg for over a year alongside her previous role as head of the Municipal Integration Center (KI) of the Oberbergischer Kreis. She is now stepping down from this role to fully focus on her new position at the VHS Oberberg.

The native of Oberberg studied social sciences in Siegen and subsequently completed a part-time master's degree in Münster with a focus on “Counseling in Further Education, Education, and Career.” Since 2014, Sarah Krämer has been working at the KI of the Oberbergischer Kreis, serving in a leadership role since 2017.

Thanks to her many years of work at the Municipal Integration Center, Sarah Krämer is well-connected in the Oberbergischer Kreis and is highly familiar with the structures of the district administration and municipalities. “I am very much looking forward to the new tasks and to implementing new ideas with full energy. During my time at the KI, I was able to gain many valuable experiences, build a strong network in the municipalities, and experience a great deal of trusting collaboration. I am very grateful for that,” says Sarah Krämer.

She plans to use these connections in the future to foster new collaborations and establish additional VHS Oberberg offerings directly in the municipalities. “It is important to me – especially since I live in the Oberbergischer Kreis myself – that we consistently tailor our courses to the needs of the residents of the Oberbergischer Kreis. Particularly in a geographically dispersed district like the Oberbergischer Kreis, it is essential to offer educational opportunities more intensively on-site and to make them more visible. This way, we can reach even more people and make further education more accessible,” she said.

District Administrator Klaus Grootens emphasizes the importance of the VHS Oberberg for the region: “I am very pleased that we were able to recruit Sarah Krämer, an engaged and exceptionally well-connected personality in the Oberbergischer Kreis, to lead the VHS Oberberg. With her dedication, professional competence, and experience, she brings the best qualifications to successfully fulfill this responsible role.

The VHS Oberberg is the largest further education institution in the region and reaches people of all age groups with its diverse offerings – far beyond the district boundaries.
