District starts construction work on K 24 in Lindlar-Kemmerich The road drainage is being renewed, and a bus stop is being converted to be barrier-free

Oberberg District. The district has started extensive construction work on district road 24 in Lindlar-Kemmerich: the road drainage systems will be renewed, a bus stop will be converted to be barrier-free, and the adjacent road surfaces will be renovated. The construction section extends over approximately 230 meters, coming from Schmitzhöhe, from the entrance to the already converted "Kemmerich" bus stop.

During the work on K 24, one lane will remain available. Therefore, a construction road will first be built. This road is also intended to allow through traffic to bypass the actual construction site. A full closure is to be avoided. Traffic within the construction site will be regulated by a traffic light.

As part of the construction measure, existing channels will be renovated and supplemented with new facilities for the drainage, purification, and retention of road runoff. The bus stop in this area will be made barrier-free: it will receive a waiting shelter, and the waiting area will be enlarged. Once the bus stop has been rebuilt, the damaged roadway in the area will be renewed. The necessary work is expected to continue until mid-December 2026.
