Waste consultation for recycling raw materials: The BAV informs at the district office Start of the traveling exhibition and mobile phone collection for recycling on July 3, 2026, at the district office

Oberbergischer Kreis. The Oberbergischer Kreis supports the campaign of the Bergischer Waste Management Association (BAV) for a better understanding of raw materials and recycling:
On Friday, July 3, 2026, the BAV waste consultation invites citizens from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to the district office at Moltkestraße 42 in Gummersbach.
Citizens can drop off used mobile phones there and get information about proper disposal. 

"We support the BAV's campaign because it shows citizens how simple and safe it is to dispose of old electronic devices and how important recycling is to reuse raw materials and conserve resources. We want to highlight connections and emphasize that everyone can take responsibility. What cannot be repaired should be forwarded for recycling," says District Administrator Klaus Grootens. 

At the same time, the BAV waste consultation's traveling exhibition begins at the district office. The information module will tour all 21 municipalities in the association's area until the end of 2026, showcasing so-called „hidden“ or „passive“ electronic devices – products that are often not immediately recognized as electronic devices. These include, for example, blinking shoes, singing greeting cards, or toys with built-in batteries.
The module will remain at the district office in Gummersbach until September 8, 2026.

As part of the „Electronic Waste – Resources of the Future“ campaign, the BAV Zero Waste Club has been touring cities and municipalities in the Oberbergischer Kreis and the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis since November 2025.
