The Culture Backpack Visits Libraries in the Oberberg District Children and young people once again receive free or significantly reduced cultural offerings

Oberbergischer Kreis. This year too, the Kulturrucksack is traveling and offering children and teenagers aged 10 to 14 free activities at various locations in the Oberbergischer Kreis. Together with theater educator Kathleen Wojahn, a theater pedagogical workshop has been developed specifically for libraries. Under the title “Living Books – Step into the Role of Your Favorite Character,” the program invites participants to experience stories in a completely different way.

How does it feel to step into the shoes of a favorite character? What adventures can be told on a small stage? Through theater pedagogical exercises, improvisations, and creative games, participants collaboratively develop small scenes inspired by their favorite books. Those still searching for the right story can find inspiration in the library's shelves filled with diverse tales.

The workshop offers children and teenagers the opportunity to discover literature playfully and actively create it themselves.

The workshops will take place on the following dates:

July 30, 2026 – City Library Waldbröl
August 19, 2026 – Community Library Lindlar
August 25, 2026 – City Library Bergneustadt
October 27, 2026 – City Library Wipperfürth

Participation is free of charge. The offer is aimed at children and teenagers aged 10 to 14 and is part of the Kulturrucksack program of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
