Press release

Swimming areas at the Brucher Dam reopened Currently no blue-green algae sighted.

Oberbergischer Kreis. The bathing areas at the Brucher Dam are open for swimming again. The existing swimming bans at the DLRG house, sailing club, and dam wall bathing areas have been lifted.

During the recent inspections, no blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) were detected. However, the health department points out that conditions in a body of water can change quickly. Swimmers are therefore advised to pay attention to current notices on-site and refrain from swimming if visible irregularities are observed in the water.  The development of water quality will continue to be monitored regularly.
