District Administrator Klaus Grootens Sets an Example for Care-Friendly Working Conditions in the District Administration Oberbergischer Kreis Signs Charter "Compatibility of Work and Care"

Oberbergischer Kreis. The district administration is committed to a care-friendly work culture and sets an example for supporting employees who take on responsibility for caring for relatives alongside their professional duties. District Administrator Klaus Grootens has signed the Charter "Compatibility of Work and Care" of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

More and more people are facing the challenge of reconciling work and caregiving. Often, the need for care in a family arises unexpectedly and requires far-reaching organizational decisions in a short period of time. For those affected, this often means a significant additional burden.

The initiative to sign the charter was brought to the Oberbergischer Kreis by the Care Network Oberberg e.V. (P.NetO). The network is committed to strengthening the regional care infrastructure.

For the Oberbergischer Kreis as an employer, supporting its own employees is a top priority. Through a care-friendly work culture, transparent information, and suitable support offers, employees should find it easier to reconcile their professional duties with family caregiving responsibilities as effectively as possible.

District Administrator Klaus Grootens emphasizes: "The need for care in a family often arises unexpectedly. For those affected, this frequently means having to organize work, family, and caregiving within a very short time. As an employer, we want to support our employees in this challenging situation as best as possible. By signing the charter, we commit ourselves to a care-friendly work culture and create the conditions that allow employees to remain in their professional lives even during difficult family phases. At the same time, we send an important societal signal for greater awareness and appreciation of caregiving relatives."

By signing, the Oberbergischer Kreis not only aims to strengthen its own employees but also to highlight the importance of this topic for the entire region. In light of an aging society, supporting caregiving relatives is becoming increasingly important. Employers can play a crucial role in ensuring that caregiving responsibilities and professional activities remain compatible.

The charter is part of the state program "Compatibility of Work and Care" of the Ministry of Labor, Health, and Social Affairs of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The goal of the program is to help employers sustainably promote the compatibility of work and caregiving and to offer concrete support to employees with caregiving responsibilities.
