Special permit for craftsmen (Craftsman Parking Permit)

Eligible to apply are craft businesses listed in Annex A or B of the Crafts Code and other businesses, provided the craft businesses or other businesses

• regularly carry out construction, repair, and assembly work outside their own premises
  and

• use special service and workshop vehicles or need to transport heavy or extensive materials. The company vehicles must be equipped with clearly readable permanent company markings on both sides of the vehicle.

For vehicles that are not registered to the company or the business owner, or do not have permanent company markings, no exemption permit can be granted.

The craftsman parking permit NRW can be issued for the Cologne administrative district or optionally for the state of NRW.

Businesses headquartered within the Oberbergischer Kreis must generally apply to the Road Traffic Authority of the Oberbergischer Kreis.

If the business headquarters are located within the cities of Gummersbach, Radevormwald, Wiehl, and Wipperfürth or in the municipalities of Morsbach and Reichshof, the application must be submitted to the local regulatory authorities.

Applicants with business headquarters outside NRW can apply to the Road Traffic Authority in the jurisdiction where the operation takes place.

• Copy of the business registration or current business re-registration

• Copy of the current registration confirmation from the Chamber of Crafts or the Crafts Card (front and back). If no registration with the Chamber of Crafts is required (other businesses), written information on which craft activities are carried out or why a workshop or service vehicle is necessary.

The permit authorizes parking without a separate individual case examination during the performance of craft services and craft-related activities:

• in restricted no-parking zones or zone no-parking zones according to signs 286/290.1 StVO
• at parking meters and ticket machines without paying fees and without observing the maximum parking duration (§ 13 paragraph 1 StVO)
• in areas with parking disc requirements without displaying the parking disc and exceeding the maximum parking duration (§ 13 paragraph 2 StVO)
• in resident parking spaces (§ 45 paragraph 1 b StVO)

The special permit does not authorize permanent parking at the business headquarters or in its vicinity.

The craftsman parking permit is transferable to up to 4 additional vehicles but is valid only for the vehicle in which the original parking permit is displayed in the front windshield. As many parking permits as needed can be applied for (see fee information). If you have more than 5 vehicles, an additional application may be required.

In the event of a vehicle change, the original parking permit and a copy of the new vehicle registration certificate or Part I registration document must be submitted for modification. The administrative fee for changing the parking permit is 20 euros.

The validity period is 1 year. Additional craftsman parking permits applied for subsequently by the same applicant can be adjusted to the duration of the first parking permit.

Craftsman parking permit valid for the Cologne administrative district

The administrative fee is 305 euros for the first permit and 153 euros for each additional permit or copy applied for at the same time.
For additional permits applied for subsequently, an administrative fee of 12.75 euros (1/12 of 153 euros) is charged for each remaining month of validity of the first special permit.

Craftsman parking permit valid for NRW

The administrative fee is 350 euros for the first permit and 175 euros for each additional permit or copy applied for at the same time.
For additional permits applied for subsequently, an administrative fee of 14.60 euros (1/12 of 175 euros) is charged for each remaining month of validity of the first special permit.
