News from Yesterday: Free Theater Workshop for Young People at Schloss Homburg During this autumn holiday, from October 19 to 23, 2026, stories will come to life at Schloss Homburg in Nümbrecht.
Together with theater educator Kathleen Wojahn and museum educator Miriam Rouenhoff, participants will get to know the museum more closely and select exciting stories and characters. Small play scenes will be developed – for example, a TV reporter reporting live on the negotiations of the Siegburg Comparison, an annoyed knight clearing up all the misconceptions about knighthood, or Adeline Jaeger talking about her life as an artist in the 19th century and sharing the latest gossip about her family members. The rehearsed scenes will accompany a museum tour in a final performance, providing a very special insight into history.
The theater week is free for all interested children and young people between the ages of 10 and 14. Registrations can be made at kulturrucksack@obk.de. The program will take place from October 19 to 23, 2026, daily from 11 AM to 4 PM.
The project is part of the Kulturrucksack NRW funding program in the Oberbergischer Kreis. The state program Kulturrucksack NRW promotes cultural education offerings at extracurricular learning locations specifically for 10- to 14-year-olds. Since 2023, the Kulturrucksack has also been available in the Oberbergischer Kreis.
