Oberbergischer Kreis. Whether "newcomers" or artists already established in the cultural scene of the Oberbergischer district: Applications for the Culture Promotion Award 2026 are still possible until Saturday, October 31 (12:00 PM). The award, endowed with 2,500 euros, shines a spotlight on outstanding artistic achievements every two years. The sum can be divided among up to three winners. In addition to the monetary prize, each recipient will also receive an artistically designed award.

Outstanding cultural promotion projects are being sought again this year!

"The cultural life in the Oberbergischer district is vibrant and diverse. This is also evident from the artists we have honored and supported with the Culture Promotion Award for their outstanding achievements over the past 25 years. The district considers both established cultural creators and creative individuals who are well on their way: Those who are artistically active with diligence, inspiration, and creative ideas have a good chance of succeeding in our low-threshold application process. I encourage all artists to seize the opportunity to present their works and talents to the public," says District Administrator Klaus Grootens.

This year, the promotion award will once again be open to all disciplines: visual arts, performing arts, music, literature, and media art. A key requirement for participation is a strong connection to the Oberbergischer district. Artists can apply themselves or be recommended.
