Supervision for care and support facilities

The responsibility under the Living and Participation Act (WTG) extends to various types of offers (for adults).

These include facilities with comprehensive service offerings (especially nursing homes and facilities for people with disabilities), provider-managed care communities / shared living arrangements for people with disabilities, service living offers, outpatient services, and guest facilities (hospices, day care and night care facilities, as well as short-term care facilities). The focus of the activity is the protection of the interests and needs of the users of these offers.

Within this responsibility, regular inspections are conducted at staggered intervals and inspections are carried out based on specific occasions. In addition, incoming complaints are examined, consultations are held, and efforts are made to remedy identified deficiencies.

The key inspection results of the regular inspections in facilities with comprehensive service offerings, guest facilities, and provider-managed shared living arrangements are published as a result report on the Internet portal of the Oberbergischer Kreis and are available at the respective facilities.

In addition to protecting users, there is a comprehensive advisory and review obligation towards the service provider. If necessary, individuals and organizations planning to operate a facility or shared living arrangement are also advised during the planning phase.
