Green License Plate

Green license plates feature green text on a white background. Vehicles with green license plates are exempt from vehicle tax. However, they are strictly purpose-bound. For example, you may not transport wooden beams with your horse trailer.

Green license plates are available for the following purposes:

• Trailers for sports purposes

• Self-propelled work machines

• Tractors (excluding semi-trailer tractors)

• Vehicles of aid organizations and humanitarian associations

Registration and Approval

During registration, the documents correspond to those for your primary concern, e.g., transfer of ownership.

You apply directly for green license plates during registration and receive them in advance. Approval is granted by the customs office. If approval is not granted, you must change the registration certificate Part I (vehicle registration document) and the license plates.
